A healthy old age

Despite these concerns, most older people lead full and active lives, contributing to society through providing social care, spending power, volunteering activities and charitable donations. Keeping physically and socially active and reducing lifestyle risk factors remain as important for a healthy old age as at any other time in life. This section of the population also contributes extensively to providing care for other generations; people in their sixties and seventies may still be caring for parents in their nineties or for grandchildren. They also provide considerable voluntary activity in communities and increasingly continue working in more formal paid capacities.
